just as an update. Its now unlikely the Nimrod will be able to make it. They have been having alot of problems with various systems and have not been able to ground run it yet. If they can do so today theres an outside chance it might be in on sunday. But no promises.

Today the Typhoon practised its display. It performed a looping but came out of it at only 15 feet above the runway. The rest of the display was cancelled and the jet landed 10 minutes later. Hopefully it will show up the upcoming days... :(

The good news is that the Red Arrows flew formation with three Spitfires. After the nice formation with the F-117 in 2003 we now hopefully get another impressive formation.

That sounds very worrying - the last time that happened as far as I know was the German Mig 29 in 2001 who pulled out excessively low from a manouvre and took no further part in the display...

[edit]Looks like he was made to do the practice again. Look here for a picture of the incident...

and here for a pic where you can follow the trajectory of the heat haze...

Well, the organisation now told it will fly tomorrow. After the mishap, he rehearsed again and flew a revised display. Thank god. This bird really is a crowd pleaser for every airshow visitor.

Thought I just might toddle up there. Should be a nice day out if the weather's like it's been all week. ;)

Have to give the Prom a miss as I'm up your way for a wedding. ::) :D

Well guys, I'm back home...after a very long weekend in the bus.  ::)

On Sunday, the weather was nice. Perhaps a little too hot, but I'm not complaining. The show wasn't as good as last years, but still, worth the trip.

On Monday, man that was awesome. Everybody told me the departure day was a not to miss event. Right now, I can only second that. So many different jets, so close, so loud, so...cool. In fact, it was even better than the normal show. Allas the U-2 and C-5 didn't depart but oh well, you can't have it all. A little more sun on Monday was the only thing that could have made it better.

Still have to figure out which photos of the thousands I took are the best ones. After a quick view, I notice that there's alot of crap among them, but also good ones. Probably, when times go by, some of them might show up here.  ;)
