A quick question for British aircraft buffs

Postby denishc » Fri Jul 15, 2005 9:05 pm

I just started building a 1/72nd scale model of a Hawker Hunter and the instructions are alittle "vague" on how to paint the cockpit.  So, my question is what color is the cockpit side wall and floor (green or gray? and what shade?).  What about the ejection seat.  Thanks for any help.

Usually a grungy kind of military green. Ejection seat I'd go grey/silver, because thats usuallly always right.
Good luck! (and dont get paint on the table!)

I think commoner's just about answered it for you!

Black is the norm, or very dark grey on some types. The ejection seat is mostly black, although the very top surface of the parachute box will probably be olive green (the canopy casing), and the seat pan and back would be olive green too as this is the pilots parachute harness which he sits in.

Russian aircraft are simple... anything blueish-green will do for the panel
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur
