From what I heard on the radio it was fortunately only a couple of tiles. Seems a tad careless of them.

Or a technical problem. I understood the launch could be cancelled right up to the last second. I wouldn't expect them to take any chances.

Sorry. Of course it can be cancelled at any moment. I mean as far as it stands everything is go for launch. Of course a bird might use the tiles as a toilet so that would of course break them:)

I believe the tiles are actually very fragile. Not heard about the bird poo thing before but I think like most heat-resisting materials they're very brittle & easily damaged. Surprised they haven't come up with anything better.

If they were supplied by a British company they'd do everything perfectly. But there wouldn't be a suitable glue to attatch them

LOL sorry my bird toilet was more sarcsm on just how fragile these things are. I think the fact NASA are so hell bent on getting it airborne today is a little disconcerting. Hopefully it will all go well. I'm sure it will.
