I live in Germany. Well actually in Bavaria near the Alps.
I love my country, the people, the countryside, the lakes, our culture, our beer, our food.
You probabely know the "oktoberfest" or "wiesn" (in other words the biggest public drug scene in the world ).
We Bavarians have an interesting dialect.. wich is very easy to learn.. you will speak it automatically when speaking german after 5 mass of beer (1mass=1liter).

We have a very dangerous social system called the "generation contract" wich means. The young people pay for the old people. Nice idea.. but our birth rate is decreasing constantly since 20 years. So earlier or later
the system will collapse.

Yes, our social system has some major porblems, but the so-called "generation contract" is not the only cause.

Running away from problems

attempting to make a better life for themselves. I have a number of family members scattered about the globe, all of them went because they saw a better opportunity elsewhere, and its paid off for them. If you want to look at it as running away from problems so be it, but sounds to me from other posts like you want out of Germany yourself but cant take the next step to leaving. Or your just happy to stay there and complain about the place. Either way dont put down others for doing something to better themselves.

It's the same with guys like M. Schumacher or other rich people, just on a smaller scale. Their taxes are missing in the government's budget and in the social system.
