Kiwi wins US PGA

Postby Bazza » Sun Jun 19, 2005 11:39 pm

As the only New Zealander on Omags Map, I would like to point out that Michael Campbell has won the US PGA Championship.

This is a huge result for this country, our Parliament delayed proceedings to watch the finish - which either says something about our Politicians or underlines what interest there was in this performance.    Tiger Woods, never far from the money was 2nd.

As they say in this part of the world  :  "Good on ya mate !."

;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D

Correction, it was the US Open, sponsored by the USGA, and a more prestigious title than the PGA Championship.

It was an amazing performance as he held off a late charging Tiger Woods to win by 2 strokes.  My congratulations to Mr. Campbell.
