Wow.  That was pretty dumb...  I wonder if he was a flight sim enthusiast?  ;)  Probably would know how to land the dang thing then...  Or most likely would have know not to steal the thing.  ::)  All I can say is he just put his  :-X on the chopping block.

He said he never flew a plane before. I'd say he is fortunate to be alive.  ::)

It's not that hard. Pull back on the yoke, the houses get bigger. Push down on it they get smaller. ::)

Not that hard, eh James? I'm sure you'd be in for a rude awakening if you thought that. ;) ;D

I'd disagree ;)

If he was stupid enough to steal it in the first place, he very well might have thought the thing flew like an F/A-18.  Not to mention he no doubt didn't know traffic procedures, how to use the radio, etc., creating a SERIOUS traffic hazard, middle of the night or not.  5 bucks says he didn't have his lights on either.  Pilots who don't talk exist (and they piss me the **** off), but they normally know the traffic procedures at least.

Oh yeah, and the yoke thing doesn't quite apply during startup, taxi, takeoff and landing.  You need to know a bit more than that.

He is very fortunate to be alive.  And very stupid.  I can't believe he took off AGAIN. ::)

EDIT: I sure hope you weren't kidding, or I'd look like a real ass right now :D

As for my comment, never mind that. :) Seeing as how I wrote that 15 minutes after I woke up.. ::)

*mental note- allow an hour after waking up to try and communicate*
