What's interesting to me is everyone is afraid of the world being blown apart by comets.

Not everybody. I can't say that possibility ever worried me. ;)

In a few years or so, we'll be moving away just as fast, so it all works out in the end...

BTW, the coolest depiction of Mars ever has to be 'Total Recall.'  That mutant with three boobs still visits me in my dreams from time to time...

Well Hype as soon as Mars gets in range of my C172 I am going to be the first one there.  I shall put up my own flag and declare the planet mine.

Be sure and take a few screenshots.

Months. August 2003 mars came closest it's been to Earth for a many many years. If it's coming back towards earth again then it means it's got as far away again in the last 18 or so months. Remember, all the planets are going round the sun at different speeds and different orbits. I mean, twice every orbit Pluto actually comes closer to the sun than Uranus because it has an oblong orbit instead of a circular one like all the other planets.

There is a solid core in Jupiter, but if you were to land on it, the gravity would be so intense that you would be as flat as Micheal Jackson's singing career...
