However, in this case there is a clause in the directive that could apply to Sally B & other aircraft affected by the ruling. I haven't read it properly but it seems obviously directed at commercial passenger aircraft. I could be wrong but I think if the correct department was to be approached in the right manner it's quite possible this could be resolved. What I think it needs is for the warbird owners & operators to get together & present their case properly to the appropriate authorities.
