NFL players getting worse

Postby Craig. » Sat Apr 30, 2005 5:57 pm

Well today i decide to check up on some pre-season news for the NFL. And the one thing i noticed first. Just how many no-shows at the training camps there will be.
and funny enough most of them have Drew Rosenhaus as their agent. This piece of pond scum is ruining the careers of some of the best players in the game. And whats really sad, he has gotten Ruben Droughns to hold out despite getting a brand new contract with Cleveland. And Ruben is one of the nicest guys playing the game, who would never have thought of doing this before this guy signed him up.

I'm surprised at the way the Eagles are handling TO, another mini-camp no-shower.  I figured that there was no way they were even going to give him a chance to get away, but Reid has said that the team will move on without him if need be.  He's one of the best coaches in the NFL, so I'm inclined to go along with whatever Reid says, but I sure hope we don't lose TO over this.

As long as money/profit are the motives................it will never change and will more than likely get worse.

"Contracts" mean NOTHING! Don't like the one you are in, don't show up, don't play until they renegotiate. What a crock!!

What I would do if profit and money were no issue.

No show for practice, no play...........therefore no money!

Renegotiate your what?!! You agreed to it and signed it now live up to it!

You're going to sit out until we renegotiate? Fine, sit out in jail for breech!

There are some good men in the NFL who still have honor and a sense of duty and fair play. I wonder when THEY will have enough and begin to stand up and start shouting!

I would love to see all of those GOOD players sit out until the coaches and owners got rid of all the Prima Donnas!

It's a sorry statement of how it is when Teams will even recruit/draft CRIMINALS!

Like i said. This Rosenhaus ass, is to blame 9 times out of 10. Personally i think these players holding out are only harming their chances, TO doesnt surprise me, but the Eagles showed last year they dont need him.

Been a die-hard Eagles fan for roughly 16 years, I'm very well aware of our draft picks (13 :o Reid's a genius!) ;)

What draft picks we took doesn't shake the fact that TO is, quite possibly, the most dominant reciever (possibly player) in the game.  Every single time this guy has the ball in his hands, there's a 90% chance he's gonna make at least two guys miss and get a big gain.  As Craig said, we don't necissarily need him, but DAMN he sure helps.  Also, Westbrook (last years MVP if you ask me) is only on for one more year, and may leave after that.  We need to milk it for what it's worth now.

This makes me sick! :P
These guys are making millions and they will hold out for more. Javon Walker is also holding out this year.

You are right Craig, it always seems to be Rosenhaus' players causing trouble. Remember the Mike Mckenzie fiasco last year... :P

I couldn't have said it better myself.  It's bad enough when someone does something like this with a modest contract-but when your making $50 million and thats not good enough, thats beyond greedy.  I would fine the crap out of them for each day they miss-$50,000 the first day, $100,000 the next, and $250,000 the next (you get the picture)-I'm sure they show up in a couple days.   ;)

I like the idea of pay per play contracts. You get paid for the team events you show up for. That includes mini camps, practices charity events and of course games. You dont show you dont get paid.

Hey, I want you all to read an article I read today. Favre is talking about Javon Walker, who is holding out. I have so much respect for what Favre said in the article, and I never could have said it better myslef. So, please, read this article.

And guess who Walker has as his agent. This guy should be banned from being an agent in all professional sports.

There is kinda a weird trend going on here... seems like this guy just might be the source of all our problems.
