Sorry, Chomp, but I don't consider wishing ill fortune, let alone death, on a fellow human being even remotely "petty".
Great edit, Bob.

I didnt like what he said either, but sometimes you just have to leave things alone. Your not going to change his mind. Not at all trying to tell you what to do, just some advise.

There is only one way to fail, that is to not try.  On most things, I may choose not to voice my opinion, but if you're going to wish someone dead, I'm going to stand up for that.  There's always a line, and when it's crossed, it's time to speak up.

As I said, if I go down in SimV history as the guy who got banned for speaking out against someone who wished death upon another, I will gladly take that heat with a smile, knowing I was on the right side.

I doubt anyone will be kicked out of SimV for this. If you guys had gone on arguing they might have locked the thread, but thats about it.

I'm not even going to honor the comparison of a criminal in jail to the Pope with a response.  They're completely different situations.

Okay, my original response was a bit harsh, even for dear old Woody.  lol

I rarely agree with your points of view, Woodlouse, you undoubtedly know that by now.  We're going to disagree on most things...but I'm not going to debate my position on this with anyone, nor am I going to defend it.

The clause that "all men are created equal" is very true, however I firmly believe that someone in prison is hardly equal in all areas to the Pope.

When I say that I find it inappropriate to wish death on someone, I'm talking about over a difference in opinion.  I'm a staunch advocate of the death penalty.  That doesn't make me a hypocrite.   It makes me understanding of the fact that if you do something wrong, you deserve the penalties that you receive.

Both are human and both were influenced by their surroundings.
You easily could have exchanged them, if you kept the ways they were educated and the ways their surroundings have influenced them. The "prisoner" would have become pope et vice versa.

mmmk......
I don't think it wise to wish death to a man whose spent his whole life serving other people......not only that but what happened to good manners?
Whats wrong with being conservative? If we did not have a conservative foundation in all things, then nothing would last.

well said.

if everyone would be just a little bit more conservative the world would be a better place and our society wouldn't be going down the drain like it is now (i'm mainly refering to germany and england here). what i find most disturbing is the way kids are raised these days (too liberal) and become annoying brats with no respect for adults or anything in their surrounding for that matter. my parents were too easy on me too and i went downhill in my teenage years and became a useless little punk with nothing to contribute to society but vandalism, stealing, fighting and so on. those disrespectful little sh*ts need to be thaught some proper discipline and to be grateful for what they have. be strict with your kids and they will thank you oneday. i can assure you!

it took a muslim girlfriend to actually open my eyes to this facts and to appreciate values that i had taken for granted. i'm sorry about this little rant but having a more conservative view at certain aspects of live is not always as bad as people make it seem. hey at least i won't be working at mcdonalds or lifting weights in prison, like my old friends are doing at the moment  ::)
