Hmmm, I doubt its nightvision, its day time after all............the army is dumb, but not that dumb ::)

It might be IR, since it looks quite like close quarters...

What I mean is that it's a fitting to clip your night vision goggles onto when you need them. After that it seems that you can flip them up and down then needed. :P

It's definitely a clip for NVG's.  I took a field trip to Truax Field where the 128th ANG F-16s are based near here with my aerospace class and we had a chance to try out Night Vision Goggles that the F-16 pilots use.  They actually had clips on their helmets for those googles too.

You should try out Night Vision Googles sometime if you haven't, it's amazing.  They closed all the doors and turned off the lights in a room and it was pitch black, but when you had the NVG's on you could see anything, except for the fact that it's all green.  It's cool though, definitely a must on the "to-do" list. ;D ;)

Flash uniforms are OK for ceremonial use but when the flak starts ......... well......looking like a small heap of dog poo is best!

Well, war sucks, so you can ignore that factor.

Flashier is better!  Especially if you could get little lights on the uniforms!  Maybe silver Elvis capes!
