Most annoying thing about Cell Phones?

If it doesn't fit .. It fits here .. - -

Nothing wrong with mobile phones in my view. I think they're a darned good idea & can be very useful. if not essential to some people. I go out to get away from people trying to contact me so have no use for one myself. If it's important they can ring me at home later. The annoying thing is the inconsiderate owners of these things who obviously have no idea of manners or common courtesy. They would be just the same without the phones.

I never understood why they have cameras & all sorts of other gizmos fitted on them. If you wish to take photos then get a proper camera. I never had one myself but I suspect it's almost impossible to get one without all these things fitted as standard.

Great things - love 'em. How I hate them their owners when they ring during lectures, restraunts etc. Sooo annoying! >:(

EDIT: Lol! I just took the quiz! :o
This is what it said:

You could be worse
You know proper cell phone etiquette, but you don't always practice it. With just a little more effort, you can avoid the evil stares of strangers and save yourself the embarrassment of revealing private details on a quiet bus. Remember to use the environmental settings on your phone, excuse yourself from a conversation if it is necessary to make or take a phone call, and brush up on your cell phone etiquette here. And really, talking on your cell phone in the bathroom? That's just plain gross.

But having only my cell and no land line, I'm never bothered by telemarketers...

I do the same thing.  I haven't had a land line in over two years...LOVE IT.
Great edit, Bob.

I think mobiles, cell phones or whatever you like to call them, are one of the few things to have been popular in the UK for far longer in than in the US. Not ever having owned one myself I'm not sure of my facts but I've heard about problems with spam text messages, similar to E-mail spam. Another thing I couldn't quite understand is that I got the idea that the recipient ends up paying for these calls & not the sender. Maybe someone can clarify this but it sounds expensive to me.

I hate them, but I have to carry one for work. My pet hate with them is when I'm on site (heavy construction, very dangerous) and people are walking round on the phone, not paying attention to what's going on around them. Oh and Rottydaddy it's now illegal to use a phone and drive here in the UK, but enforcement seems to be patchy  ::)

I really dont like camera phones. its just another way to make them cost more. The other problem is that there are a lot of places that you are not allowed to take a camera, like factory floors and other places that companies dont want photographed, but you are allowed to take your cell phone. what if your phone has a camera on it? Its part of my job to keep people from bringing cameras (among other things) into where I work, but there no way I can tell them not to bring their cell phone. And what does the company do when I what to do about it? Ignore me and wait untill I go away.

This is one thing that's bothered me for a long time. It's often difficult to tell whether people are checking their text messages or taking photos. It could be handy in certain situations but I think it could all too easily be abused & most probably often is. You don't need a spy camera any more if you own one of these things.

It became such a problem in Japan that now all camera phones have to make a very loud "camera noise"  that you can't turn off. My Sony erricsson does it and it's anoying as hell

Cell Phones...
The word preceding "Phones", I like.....
That's where people who have them should permanently reside, and fed on very small quantities of bread and water...LOL...!

"Excuse me Sir/Madam, I notice you have a Mobile Phone. Would you mind accompanying me to the Police Station"... 8)...!

Tee-Hee... ;D...!

Hey, see it positively! Someone else might have a worse life than oneself.

And what's so hard about ignoring them?

Easier said than done when they shout loud enough to be heard - without the bloomin' phone. >:(

I was in the local convenience store a couple of weeks ago when I couldn't help noticing this chap with a mobile glued to his ear whilst doing his shopping. He kept picking stuff off the shelves & putting it back while continually chatting on his mobile. I finally figured out that someone (presumably his other half) was telling him which brands of produce to purchase. Goodness knows how much this added to the price. ::)

One thing I notice about Cell Phone users/owners is that they can never escape from some person or other trying to contact them....especially when they really don't want to be contacted.... ::)...!

If any of my boys come to visit me on their bikes for a relaxing chat, a cup of tea, and something nice to eat, it's not very long before their better halves phone them wanting to know where they are, what woman they are entertaining, and how long they are going to be...  >:(...!

...and Lord help them if they switch their phones off... ::)... :'(...!
...."Why did you have your phone switched off..."... >:(... >:(... >:(...?

LOL...!

Paul...Peace reigneth in Fozzers cell phone free House... 8)...!

P.S. I'm also ex-directory, so I don't get troubled by marketeers annoying me on my landline phone... ;D...!
...and 'cos I'm on 56k dial-up on my 'puter...then NO-ONE can contact me on my landline phone...Tee-Hee... ;D...!

I use my cell phone in only 3 (two) situations:

1. Whenever I use it in my room to talk to my parents (once a week) and see how they're doing.

2. Whenever I have to deploy and let my parents know.

3. Call 911 or notify SF (Security Forces).

I always have my phone with me. And I always keep it muted- no vibrate, no ring. I use it only if, God forbid, something horrible happens and I need to contact police/911, etc. I do take it with me to school, but I only check for messages when I walk home from the bus.

It is rather funny though when you're sitting in history class and you hear "La Cucaracha" go off. It gets the teachers oh-so-pissed. ;D

Also, cell phone usage while driving is illegal here in New Jersey. Great law. Too bad cops don't enforce it..
