YMMB Moorabbin, Victoria, Australia (south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, overlooking Port Phillip Bay).

Statistically the busiest airport in Oz - but there's a trick to that, most of the 'departures and arrivals' are flying school pupils doing 'circuits and bumps'  :)

This is taking the DH88 Comet off on a round-Australia trip, turning south on course for Tasmania.  You can't quite see my house  :) - it's hidden by the starboard wingtip, near the patch of green (which is Royal Melbourne Golf Club).

I've often posted this before, as I actively fly out of it in FS.

My home airfield is Sanderson Field (KSHN) in Shelton, Washington. It was a former Naval Air Station that was built primarily for defending any possible strikes against Washington State or the U.S. during World War II. Shortly after the war, however, the United States Navy decided they no longer needed Sanderson Field, so they deeded the airport over to the Port of Shelton. The airport at the time had three runways, one of which is now closed (runways 1/19) and the other of which is now a major access road just north of the airport.  Runway 5 / 23 is the only operating runway now, and on average more than a dozen aircraft are seen in the air above Sanderson Field per day.  Over 45 aircraft call Sanderson Field their home, including three helicopters and four Military aircraft.

I live a mile and a half south of it in the Mountain View area of Shelton, and have a good sight of the aircraft making their final approaches.

Fiumicino International, Ciampino Regional and Urbe (more like a museum).

The three airports in Rome, Italy are very conveniently located around my house. Amzingly, none of them are more than 30 minutes away. I see everything fly over, from Agusta A109's to Boeing 747 and a rare Canadair.

Cheers,

does anyone have any custom scenery for  their home bases? i might be getting  UK Scenery Midlands as I believe Brize is included on there, it also makes some of the smaller nearby airfields a bit more  detailed.

Dammit Doug! you beat me to it ;D

Maybe I was wrong, Halwell doesn't look much closer than Exeter International :-/
Ah well, it's nice to know that the turning circle at the end of 26 at Exeter can handle an A340 :o
Although I doubt the runway can ::)
