As a hillbilly/metalhead-rap hater I hope all of thos bastards burn. I hate enbonics and I hate the BullS*** they call "Music". I wont go into why I hate rap unless someone wants me to.

[quote]???

Not that I disagree with you on the term...I don't understand it either (and it certainly doesn't sound like a compliment to me).

Well Doug, I am quite a bit younger than you, but still I agree things are changing.

The pimping stuff is part of the ( commercial) hip-hopscene, nowadays! Just watch the video's on MTV - 50 cent's for instance... all about fast, visual loud cars, lots of money and barely clothed ladies... Not to mention the very high standards of language used in these "songs"... one thing in particular always annoyed me, the term they use for a girl is the equivalent I'd use for a female dog... and the swearing, just don't get me starting on that. All these word become common language nowadays... kinda worries me...

No as far as rap goes, before someone starts it off, I do like some of it, but only the "original" ones, like Snoop Doggy Dog, Dr. Dr

My appologies if i offended anyone with the title.
However these days as Omag says its just become part of the common language, i dont use it myself, but couldn't do much about the title as its the shows name ::)

No need to apologise Craig. It takes a lot to offend me. I felt that I just had to comment, that's all.

Interesting to see that Omag, who is much younger than me, seems to agree with my point of view.

I cant say that i dont agree with you. I personally feel that, when they start using racist words as common greetings and names, i feel its setting a bad example. And thats me being polite anymore and i would prob get banned.

Offensive words don't bother me so much as the culture that goes with them. I haven't listened to much of this Rap stuff myself but from what I read most of it contains extremely offensive language which is particularly demeaning to women & girls. They seem to be regarded as no more than slags which hardly setting an example to the young people that listen to this stuff. What I find strange about it is that if I used this sort of language in public I would probably be arrested & charged with discrimination of some sort. ::)

I picked these lyrics at random from an Eminem album. http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/eminem/cumoneverybody.html I'm about to become a grandad for the first time. Maybe I'm missing something here but I'm not sure I want my grandchild listening to this crap or thinking this is normal.

Live & let live ......

As long as it's not interferring or having a negative influence on society (& yes - I agree a lot of eminem (& others) lyrics are dubious ::) ) ... Why does anyone ever feel it necessary to criticise someone else's hobby/music/lifestyle?  ::) I don't like opera or c&w music - but I'm really glad it exists .. :)

What you should be doing is hoping very few people are like you - because a world short of absolute variety is a real life nightmare ...  ......  :D

My thoughts exactly Pete.

As long as it's not interferring or having a negative influence on society

I think in this case it's hardly having a positive effect. Never mind. Nothing any of us can do about it.
