Does this sound wierd?

Postby Dr._Who » Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:28 pm

I woke up monday and one of my toes hurt.
I thought it would stop, but it just got worse. So this morning I spoke to one of my teachers, and we had a look at it and it had swolen and gotten bigger than my big toe. He told me I should go to the doctor in town, so I did. I thought it was just some infection in the nail, but it was broken, it has a frackture and the bone is of in two parts. So I have been walking around with a broken toe since monday without even knowing it, I dont even know how it happend  :P ::)

Broken bones in your toes and in some cases fingers, dont hurt enough for a person to consider the possibility of them being broken. Thus you can be walking around for weeks without even thinking about it. However its good you did get it checked in some cases the injury never heals and will be painful for life. Has happend to my dad. And having broken every finger a few times i know its not too bad.

I broke my finger a few weeks before christmas. After about a week I decided it wasn't worth thinking about going to the doctors any more.

My Father actually broke a couple of vertebrae.... but didn't realise it untill 35 years later when he went to the doctors with back pain. The doc sent him for an X-ray and they found the damaged bones.

Today's Thursday by my reckoning. I've been sitting here wondering why you didn't have a look at it yourself before now. ???

My Sister broke her little finger on her left hand many, many years ago.
She never got it fixed at the time, resulting in a mis-shapen finger now.

Damn those blisters!!! >:(

I, also, have never gotten broken bones - although plenty of grease burns - but occasionally I spot cuts on my body - without ever knowing how they got there!

Weeks? Try 12 months.  I fractured my wrist when kicking my buddies ass (he tripped me-that injured my hand, throwing his skinny ass to the ground fractured it).  It hurt REALLY bad, but I injure myself plenty so I figured it wasn't that bad.

A month or two ago, the pain in my wrist really flared up-got an x-ray, and what do you know.  Something called a "green-line" fracture or something... all these calcium deposits have built up around my wrist, and it's really strong now! Except it like cracks and stuff, and will become very painful once every couple of months... weird.

Just thought I'd add that, walked around for a year with a fractured wrist that I didn't know about. ::)

Ive broken both middle fingers, and my right arm up near the shoulder. I was painfully aware of all of those breaks.

I suppose those fingers were broken for a reason?  ;)

The only thing I've ever broken was my leg, and it was a nasty one!  Broke the growth plate below my knee and sent my knee cap into my thigh.  Hurt like a mother!!!  Other than that, its justs been sprained and bruised bones.
