I agree to some extent Gary but consider this. I'm not as old as your dad & was born during WWII. I grew up during the "Swingin' Sixties" which was a very exciting time & I don't regret a minute. Although my brother & I stuck to the values we'd been taught by our parents it was my generation that stood by & let all this happen. Too many of us wanted to give our children all the things we never had. If you wish to blame anyone, blame us.

The whole music piracy thing actually confuses me...

After all, a thing has value only in what another person is willing to pay for it. If you are unwilling to pay, then that thing has no value. Things without value are generally described as garbage.

Why would anyone steal garbage?

I think the main difference from when I was young is what is considered essential. My brother & I had very little while we were growing up & rarely had any money. We didn't go around stealing things & nobody we knew had anything worth stealing anyway. When I got my first job I was earning
