70's version definitly. The plots are too complex and take too long to play out and the characters dont seem to quite fit in the new one.

I voted for the new one!

Seriously, the new show is just developing and yet it has a feeling of already meeting the standard of the older show. I like the idea of a greater number of sub-plots and the greater moralizing that takes place in the new show.

They did any number of things wrong...but most sci-fi doesn't so any better. :)

the new one all the way!!

i lookd at the first 2 epsiodes of the original... that was all about shootem up and discovery, the new one is has drama, and plot twists, which I enjoy.

I was a big fan of the old show but the new one is fantastic. I like the more grown up feel to it, very refreshing after all that "lighter than light" stuff we get from Trek. I was not sure about the new direction the Cylons were going with the human clones/copies but it works well and Baltar/No 6 relationship is a good plot. The cliff hanger left so much up in the air that I just can't wait until it comes back.

Admittedly, I haven't seen the new one, but that is the result of my appreciation for the original.  I absolutely LOVED that show, and I think a modernization of it would cheapen it.  So I haven't watched out of principle.  lol
Great edit, Bob.

C'mon!  Lorne Greene as Commander Adama...there's no beating that!

And the theme song was too cool (I liked it better than the Star Wars one)!

I guess it all boils down to a comparison or Star Trek with Star Trek Next Generation.  Star Trek= discovery and shoot em up while Next Gen= sub plots and more sophisticated story lines.  I enjoy both versions but it seems that my favorite Next Gen episodes always include the Borg, Q, or any other formidable opponent that ends in a shoot em up or other sort of confrontation.  I'll take the original Battlestar.  If i want plot twists, well my wife records All My Children and One Life to Live everyday.  I can watch soaps with her for plot twists, give me lasers in space though.

Spelling it "Psylon" might look cooler...but it doesn't really tie into Cyborg they way that Cylon does now does it. :)

I prefer the old galatica. It has that more classic sci-fi space fleet epic feel to it despite all the 70's cheeziness.

I would have no problem with the new show if it wasn't named BSG. It's practically a Space: Above and Beyond space cruiser lost in space with some B5 thrown in.

more discussions on www.cylon.org , mostly die-hard fans, although the campaigning for a continuation movie/series is pretty much out of hope now since Glen Larson seems to be sitting on his movie rights.
