How far can they go? the advertising people...

Postby Omag 2.0 » Wed Mar 02, 2005 10:39 am

Just heard a radio commercial:

- Arab voice...
- Correspondent: He says he has no time...
- Arab again
- Correspondent: He says he has no time cause he's going to paradise anyway... wait a minute...

Loud Bang ( explosion)

Voice over: nowaday you have to have a really good reason not to read a newspaper(... followed by the name of the paper)

I think that's just a bit over it...
My favorite magazine had a controversial campaign too a while ago, with several posters.

This one was funny:

Image
( Reading Humo can have serious consequences)

But they had another in wich there was a cockpitshot where the pilots were reading the magazine while going straith for the twin towers... same line again ( Reading Humo can have serious consequences)

I am not going to show this one for obvious reasons

I think it's good you can laugh with a lot of stuff, but sometimes they go a tad to far I think... And then I am a liberal mind...

So tell me, what's your opinion?

I think some of these ads are tasteless. They don't necessarily offend me but they could upset many others. If this is all they can think of to advertise these products maybe they're in the wrong job. That's what I think but nobody takes any notice of what I think. ::) 8)

Some people think that the right to speak freely means you shouldn't have any limitations.  They're usually the first to jump up and cry foul when someone disagrees with that which they say.

With every right comes responsibility.  Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Great edit, Bob.

Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Wish I'd thought of that. Pity these people don't take note.
