Aw c'mon now Hagar, Fozzer...doesn't have to be 18 hours a day.... really, you MUST be jokin'.....I swim five times a week BEFORE breakfast...and play 18 holes of golf at least twice a week, and I'm going on 72. It isn't just a case of Internet or No Internet you know Moderation in all things is the key and variety is the spice of life as they say... ;)

...and I still can't see why Fozzer is paying "megabucks " to the telephone company to use the internet.....and as Hagar says it ain't mandatory. Somehow I sense a bit of gentle "stirring" going on here from Fozz..mmmm....commoner ;)

I know that, Foz knows it & you know it Commoner. My point is, how many young people like our young friend Ben DON'T know it. ::)

...Like Hagar says...the Internet is a bleedin' drug habit which is hard to give up.... :'(...!
After every day spent on browsing the Internet I suddenly realise, (too late), that I haven't got on my lovely super-bike out and visited all my lovely children, grand-children, great-grand-children, neighbours, strangers in the street, etc, like I used to do in happy times long, long ago... :'(...!
My life is slowly ebbing away, festering in this bleedin' chair, punching keys on my coffee stained keyboard, waiting for bed-time... ::)...every flippin' day... :'(...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul...

Fortunately, the Internet is not required to produce todays dins...>>>

Like the young whippersnapper ben... ;)
Well between Paul, Doug and commoner there is over 200 years of experience, :o so a mere 17 year old better watch his grounds!! ;D
I freely admit we can live without the net and it has its negative side etc, but overall we are better with it and people are better off with it.
Would you really consider leaving Doug or Paul just because you can remember days when you lived without it? In years to come it will be just like putting on your clothes. Everything will be computerised and in 50 years time almost everyone (99%) will have a computer and their lives practically rolling aorund them  The some historian will come along and say, "Look! They were discussing this all these years ago and how true and etc...." ;)

It always takes time for modern things to get accepted and the older people are always the most rigid in their views that the old way was better.

Well Ben, I can't speak for Paul & he's more than capable of doing that himself. ;)

As for me, if it weren't for my commitments to my friends at Fox Four I would give it up now if I could. This might be more difficult than you can imagine due to the obsession which I am only too well aware of. I tried doing this 2 or 3 years ago but didn't succeed mainly due to my loyalty to Pete & this website which I've grown very fond of. I can't bear the thought of letting anyone down. This is one of my biggest failings & sometimes you have to think of yourself before others.

I've learned an awful lot about computers & the flight simulators during the last few years & spend most of my spare time passing on as much of this knowledge as I can. The rest of the time I spend here & when nobody needs help I post my silly opinions here on this forum. :D

It's perfectly possible to use a comupter without ever going online. I'm hoping that my new hobby of digital photography will get me out & about much more when the weather warms up a little & the air display season starts. You speak of priorities. I never thought of computers, mobile phones or TV as necessities. These are luxuries which are fine if they're used sensibly. My priorities are my own health & happiness & that of my family & friends.

Yes, well when I said priorities - you know what I meant! ;)

So I'd advise you take up your (digitial :P ;) ) photo hobby and then post 'em all here and while your here post all around too! 8)

One more point & I'll leave it for now, I helped my friend choose a digital camera recently. He is a talented artist (paints pictures) & wanted to use it for taking photos of landscapes for use with his hobby. He's taken some really nice photos in the few weeks he's had it. As a photographer for most of his life he knows what he's doing which I don't. ::) He's never had a computer & doesn't need one. There are other ways to have the photos printed which actually work out cheaper than doing it yourself.. Not having a computer doesn't mean he's a dinosaur. ;)

..in the meantime, while its cold and miserable outside, I sit in my comfy chair, chomping on my lovely food, supping my Australian vino, and corresponding with all my mates in Simviation... 8)...!

Cheers all...!

Exactly. I personally can't wait for the summer to roll in. I'm thinking of going south next winter as i've developed a distaste for cold now.

In the mean time Foz, careful while eating that chicken. Those metal pins could cause some nasty indigestion. ;)

Well we had snow today and it is absoutely chilly. :-X

I can't wait to get on the tennis courts again. It isn't so fun in the cold - and by the time I've finished my lessons its getting too late. Hopefully by next month we should have a bit more light. 8)
