Been annoyed about this for a while. Although i am not surprised. These guys dont deserve the money they are requesting. Hockey is not popular enough to cover the costs that they want. My Memphis Grizzlies arnt covered here for basketball and the NFL season is over so no more sports till august. :'(

Oh goodie, another event for more dissapointment ;D
Actually i might get to see a couple of games this year, as my uncle can get tickets to games at Edgebaston(sp?) and since its only 10 mins down the road i am sure getting there wont be a problem. Not sure if those free tickets cover international games, gonna have to check.

My english teacher reckons we have a chance this year. But now is the time to get your bets in before the odds start to even out. ;)

Well this is the best team we have had in years which is good. The only problem, as with all our teams, once they realise they are good at their sport, they suddenly forget how to play:) It is time we gave the aussies a good thrashing.

Why should hockey players be paid any less than football players? I know you're going to say football is more popular but who gives a crap, football players play what? 16 regular season games? Hockey season is like 10 times that, and they get beat up a heck of a lot more than in other sports too.
I think all sports guys are paid too much, who's the NBA dude who said he couldn't feed his family on 14 million a year, if I ran the NBA I would have told that dude to get a real job because he wasn't playing basketball in the NBA anymore, Cya!

I don't know, I guess I always thought hockey players got the shaft because the season is so long, the sport is so violent and they get so little respect and compensation compared to the other sports, just my opinion.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

i believe all sports players are overpaid. Basketball in my opinion is one of the few sports, where they earn the money. Yes Ice hockey has a long season, but i feel a sport star should be paid in relation to the amount of money they bring in. If the NHL were smart they would reduce the amount of games in the season, and do something to interest people again. I honestly see the exact same problem again next season. Neither side wants to budge.
