They are very bad here to eat the wires around the
engine  area. If a car is parked for several days
it can be very badly damaged. They also eat phone and
TV lines.

Not too far from here they have white ones, with
regular eye color. They are protected as they are
all in an area of about 100 acres and have been
there for at least 125 years. No one know why
they are white and just in that area. They study
them all the time, and they are quite used to people.
As it is a remote area, they don't seem to cause any
problems. They are really beautiful to watch.

Once upon a time we had our own red squirrels. Pretty little creatures they are although I can't say I've ever seen one. Except for a colony on the Isle of Wight there haven't been any around here for many years.

Doug! Come to Scotland. We have them still here. It's so lovely to see them in the wild. We actually have them in Inverness wild. But if you want to see them they are roaming wild in a sort of an advernture park about 40 miles away from  Inverness. They put food out for them and you can get quite close to take pics. I love them, it wasn't until I came to Scotland that I saw them in the wild. :)
