I think it's Kentucky where the definition of being drunk is someone who can no longer hold onto the pavement.

A US citizen can take possession of any foreign, uninhabited island, as long as it contains bird droppings.

Actually there is a reason behind that law. At the time that it was passed, the US department of agriculture was promoting bird crap as the ideal scource of fertilizer for farming, so the government somehow or another decided that we should all pitch in and get as much guano as possible.
