lol, some of them aren't believable (I mean they're definitely fake)-

Pennsylvania law-

"Any motorist who sights a team of horses coming toward him must pull well off the road, cover his car with a blanket or canvas that blends with the countryside, and let the horses pass. If the horses appear skittish, the motorist must take his car apart, piece by piece, and hide it under the nearest bushes."

Ha, I'd like to try and see them enforce that one  ;D

I think burning a postbox in the UK may still be punishable by death (in theory)...

Sensible law if you ask me... :)

I rather like these from Memphis. :D

Illegal for a woman to drive a car unless there is a man either running or walking in front of it waving a red flag to warn approaching motorists and pedestrians.

It's illegal for frogs to croak after 11 PM.

Not sure I get this one. ???
It is illegal to give any pie to fellow diners. It is also illegal to take unfinished pie home. All pie must be eaten on the premises.

Mind you, we have some just as silly over here. Some go way back into history but they've never been repealed. Watch out Dan. :o
Chester Laws

You can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight.

And Crazy Craig. :o :o
York Laws

Excluding Sundays, it is perfectly legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow.

This one's more to my liking. ;)
Liverpool Laws

It is illegal for a woman to be topless in public except as a clerk in a tropical fish store.

lol Beefhole...I haven't visited that site in ages, but I completely agree with you.  (Although to be honest, knowing some of the laws that do exist convinces me that the rest on the site MUST be true!)

I used to chat with someone who lived in England quite some time ago...and there's a giant wall around their town.  According to an actual law that's on their books, if you see a Welshman climbing the wall after midnight, you're legally allowed to shoot 'em with your crossbow!
Great edit, Bob.

I already quoted that one Hype. :P ;)

Not sure it's still current but there was obviously a very good reason for these laws when they were introduced. In most cases they never had any reason to repeal them. Not so long ago the speed limit in England (not sure about the rest of the UK) was 12 mph. All vehicles driving in towns, not just those with women drivers, had to follow a man carrying a red flag.* Not sure how the man could walk at 12 mph. ::) Maybe they used men with long legs for this job. ;D

*PS. If things go on the way they are this law will soon be reintroduced. It's not necessary on the M25 as the traffic rarely goes above that speed now. ::)

It's true.  On the Isle of Man ( 45 Miles west of Liverpool) it was perfectly legal to shoot a Scotsman if he was walking on the beach towards the land.  The Island had been invaded by the clans that many times that they made this law to provide some small protection.  It was repealed in the early '90's.

I had a holiday on the Isle of Man back in the early 70s. There were plenty of Scotsmen (& women) there at the time. Maybe they outnumbered the locals & they made the best of it. ;)

There were plenty of English & Irish there too. In the week I was there we never saw one punch-up. Now why isn't everywhere like that?

A US citizen can take possession of any foreign, uninhabited island, as long as it contains bird droppings.

now, lets guees how many islands in the world are open to take for free...

and if your island has no bird droppings, BYOB (bing your own bird) ;D ;D
