Hotel Rwanda

Postby Triple_7 » Wed Feb 09, 2005 4:56 pm

Our school had some extra money and decided to take the entire junior and senior class to see the movie Hotel Rwanda...We had a private screening in the one section of the theater.  To keep this short....Its a great movie and if you get the chance to see it do ;)

Its based on the genicide in the city of Rwanda back in 94.  The fight between the Tutsis and the Hutus.  Definatly not for the kids to see...Its a well produced movie.  The story is based on a man(who is Hutu and wife is Tutsi)  who took in over 1000 refugees in a high class hotel and the struggle to keep them safe even though the odds were against them.  I think it was a little over 2 hours long...But its well worth the time and money 8) Might help if you know a little bit about the incident before you see the movie ;)

City....Country....Not much difference ::) (being sarcastic here)      Type to fast and dont always think to revise :P  But yes its very good.

And we are considered "young adults"  ::) lol         Even though some of us act like oversized 1st graders :P

The theater is located in an outdoor mall.  We got to walk around for over an hour after the movie.  A few of us ended up in a snowball fight.  There was 5 of us who decided to play king of the hill on a 15 ft high pile of snow in the middle of the one parkinglot :P  That was interesting and so were the looks we got from the various people walking by ::)  The teachers were nowhere to be found for the entire hour. Though a 10/250 ratio its pointless in tracking everyone, and knowing a couple of them they would have just joined in 8)

Of course our little group of friends were all dressed in our usual attire and were classified as a bunch of farm hicks by the "higher class" people walking around :-/ (yes lady we heard your coments sence we were only a foot away ::) )  Just love how we are looked down apon by most of the people who go to that mall.  Just because we wear our old dirty carhartt coats and dusty hats and they wear nice leather doesnt mean they are any better then us   :-/   All of us do work on farms.....but still... ::)

Anyways...Very long story and dont want to type anymore right now lol :P

City....Country....Not much difference ::)

I would say there's a great deal of difference. :P Rwanda covers 26,338 sq km. That's slightly smaller than the state of Maryland.

Ahh, the rich people who think they are better than others. Classic! I live in a very, well let's say "well off" neighborhood. Unfortunately, I am around many people of this sort. My parents have, my ENTIRE life (they're still doing it) asured two things-I wasn't spoiled, and I never, ever looked down on anyone else.

You ask me, a$$holes (most) are a result of parenting. Me, I find it funny when people make remarks like that (I'm from a well-off family but I skate and wear crap clothes), because of two things-

1) If you're my size or smaller, you're about to get your ass beaten by me and about two of my friends.

2) The really ironic thing is that people who make remarks like that are the only ones I do look down on. Such remarks only demonstrate ones own ignorance ::)

Whew-not sure where that came from. Guess people like that just make me angry >:( ;D (I'm bipolar today)

lol...This mall is the 1 of 2 in ft wayne and its got most of the more expensive stores in it...I can never find what im looking for there.  I just find it funny to listen to those comments....My boots alone probly cost more then her coat.  They just dont look like it.  I wear them everywhere and maby clean them up a bit once a month.  But they have lasted me almost a year of work and all the normal wair.  And they will probly last another year.   Not really that much wear on them :o

I really dont have a lot of extra cash laying around and i when i do i dont buy cheap.  Ide rather pay $100 for a Carhartt coat then $20 for the similar offbrand that wont last a day at work :P

People sterio type like crazy around here.  I was at a store one day and some guy came up to me and asked if i got a deer this year (oops wairing a camo hat, im a hunter ::) )   I hunt but not very much.          Welcome to the world :P
