Einstein believed time travel was possible. It just required some really big things to happen.

No doubt there are some good theorys saying why time travel is possible. I just don't  see how you can travel through nothing. To travel you go though a medium, whether it be air, light or whatever. Time is merely a clockhand going round and round and hence, not a medium through which travel is possible.

So will you lot if you keep thinking about this stuff. I realised that many years ago after several sleepless nights trying to work out brilllant theories my brain wasn't capable of. I prompty forgot all about it & decided to let someone else do the worrying. I feel much better now. :)

PS. I still remember those theories. They were quite brilliant but likely to drive you right round the bend. ::)

:D well Hagar for the good of humanity you should post them here, and have a discussion. Personally i think it would be hilarious. Did any have anything to do with time travel?  ;D

No I still have both ears thank you. ;)

I'm keeping quiet about my theories. I don't want to be held responsible for making you lot as daft as I am. I'll say one thing. They would revolutionise your ideas about time travel.

You see, while pondering on all this with my inadequate brain I suddenly realised (ding - sound of penny dropping :D) that theories are all very well but unless you can prove them even the most brilliant ideas are only theories. As nobody can possibly prove them or disprove them they remain theories so you're wasting your time. Much better to concentrate on the important things in life. ;) 8)

*PS. Lots of "experts" out there make a career out of dreaming up complex theories that can't be proved or disproved. ::) ;)

Oh, dont worry about that, most of us are quite nuts as you may have noticed.

I believe I speak for all of us (at least one or two) when I say, we would love to hear your theories.

MMMMMMMMMmmm.couldnt agree with you more there spitty....  Im starting to beleive that einstein himself may be a ufo..no not really but im sure ufo's actually exist.  What is the chance that out of all the planets in all the solar systems we are the only one in habbited by some form of life.. Not very likely, infact i beleive there was a calculation down somehow which concluded that there was most definitly other forms of life out there. ;D ???

It's been said before here, but I re-iterate: UFOs certainly exist (duh!). Alien spacecraft visiting Earth? As a true skeptic (open-minded, not merely a doubter), I have to say I've got no proof either way, myself, so...? I'd sure like to see an alien ship, though (I think). There is, however, an element of mass delusion to most sightings, especially abduction accounts IMHO. Those people who've been hypnotized and rattle off those stories aren't necessarily telling the truth; hypnosis only works on the gullible, and it only makes them more suggestible... ("so did they give you a cavity search, then?").
As for the time travel thing: hell, time travel's easy... we're all doing it right now (forwards, of course). As for backwards, I'm with woodlouse: that old paradox about going back in time to kill your parents before you're born to see what would happen has a very obvious answer: you might pre-empt the birth of some parallel version of yourself, but on your own timeline, you'd have to have been born, otherwise how could you ever exist to go back and do the deed?
Now that I've said all that, I need to make a phone call:
"Hello, Happy Acres? Yes, I'd like to reserve a room... extra padding, please, and a view of the airport...."

UFO? just a therm to say when you can't identify a flying object.

Extraterrestrial life: quite sure it's out there somewhere

Aliens on earth? Don't bet on it. Besides, if they are a bit smart, they'll use robot-landers first. You don't see us jumping around on Mars yet do ya? We send radio-controlled probes. Why would aliens take the risk of landing on a clearly habitted planet.

Time-travel: no idea, but i'll be back in a second to tell you if they managed to do it during my lifetime. Did you see me? hmmm....

Big things: an Einstein concept. Seems Einsteins theories where basically correct, but people like Stephen Hawkin make new discoveries on a regular basis, ever refining the basic theories and taking them into a whole new direction.

Reminds me, saw a documentary about neutrino's ( the universes most difficult to catch particles) yesterday. Last conclusion. Seems neutrino's could be the source of everything. Them beeing the most pure state of all things, then they decay into all sorts elements. Some scientist prooved they have to have a mass. if they do, they could well be a lot heavier when combined, than all visible masses in the univers ( starts, planets, gasses, ...)

It's kinda exciting that we could be on the brink of discovering a whole new view on what's out there.

... hmmm... I might have gone waaaaay out there... my 5 cents... ;)
