What have we learned in Orbiter?

Postby Katahu » Sun Jan 30, 2005 9:51 pm

What are the things that we have accomplished when you were flying OSFS?

I'll start.

Accomplished:
I finally learned how to establish a proper orbit over the Earth with the Delta Glider.

I learned how to align the orbits between me and the nearby orbiting objects [ex: ISS, MIR, the moon].

Haven't Accomplished:
I still can't get the hang of the Space Shuttle. I can't even get it to establish an orbit without running out of fuel first.

I still can't syncronise between two orbits.

I also can't perform a typical reentry without either skidding off the atmosphere or plunging inward like a fireball. Even with the Delta Glider.

Actually, I'm still working. :-/ Luckly, I managed to get free time when off duty. However, I won't have much free time once I start college. :-[

As for Orbiter, the only thing that kept me sane was to read the manuals as I fly orbiter. That's how I learn. So, being a bookworm does have its advantages. ;D

A degree in orbital mechanics wouldn't hurt.  I feel like I almost earned one getting the little shuttle into orbit.  I never did manage to get the Space Shuttle into orbit.

With a new comp and a new OS (I'm finally forced to learn XP) I haven't had the time to get Orbiter 2005, so keep the reviews coming.
