I live north of Schiphol, the SPY Vor is a few km south of where i live.

What i've seen coming over my house apart from the inbound Schiphol traffic:
- A bunch of F-16's usually enroute to Lelystad and the training ranges
- Apache, Cougar and Chinook helo's
- The Police helo... either from De Kooy or Schiphol
- ANWB Emergency helo... usually a bad accident has happened when these fly around
- Cessnas in the weekend
- Navy helo, don't know which one
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV[/ur
Mr. Bones, I hope you still read this thread. A couple of years ago ( about 12) I stayed in the east of Belgium ( the Ardennes - you know Battle of the Bulge). There I witnessed a training excersize, between what looked like an F-14 tomcat and another fighter, could have been a F-16.

But the Tomcat I'am quite sure off. I certainlty saw a double tail and it was kinda white looking. They made a series of narrow turns and some loops. it was an awsome sight, acompagnied by a thundering sound.

Could this have been a Tomcat? Did the Americans ever train in Belgian airspace? Quite sure it wasn't an Iranian one...

Check this out-my school/home is right under the approach for runway 17 at KPHL, where all the regional jets/props land, and even the occasional 737. But that's not the cool part-

My school's baseball field is a designated LZ for medivac choppers. Maybe four-five times a year they'll set down, cause a commotion (let us tell stupid subs "the librarian fell and hit her head" haha subs are so stupid), then take off again. But that's not the cool part-

I know the guys that land here. The PennStar chopper is a freelance medivac that works for no one in particular, just takes calls as they come. And guess who's airfield they operate out of

We used to get a lot of GA over here, because of the scenery, but now I see next to nothing... :( Every now and then a Blackhawk flies over.. I once saw a B-1.. I dunno why it was over rural New Jersey.. ::) Also I used to get a lot of traffic into Newark.. That's changed also. I guess they changed the path or somthing

I see a lot of tubes with wings carrying people inside.  Apparently these are considered aircraft as well. :o Who would'a thunk it?

But as far as true aircraft go, Zeroes a couple o' times, a Mustang once or twice, Texans a handful of times, and once, an AH-64! ;D

I almost forgot about the AH-1s, I dont see them very often at all, but once in a while, 3 or 4 will fly over. I got to watch one take off, and hover about 3 feet above the ground at a demonstration at the local NG armory.

Oh boy, something I like to talk about!

Beech factory:  Hawkers, Premier I's, T-6 Texan 2's, Bonanzas, Sierras, musketeers, kings air's, barons, and a duchess

Cessna:  172's, 182's, 206's, 208's, Cj's of all shapes and sizes

Mc Connel:  KC-135's mostly, occational F-16 or T38 or T-1

Lear:  Bombardier 604, CRJ's of all shapes and sizes.

Occationally the Jayhawk wing of the CAF will fly a bobcat or PT-17 out of Dead Cow Intl., and plenty of bizz jets flying into jabarra.

I don't really know what flew around here twelve years ago but I'm gonna check it out! Maybe it was a Starfighter which had a grey metal colour in those days.

12 years ago it could have been a Canadian Hornet from Baden-Sollingen...

hmmm, interesting. I'm not aware of any Tomcat activity in Belgium. You say a white plane? Maybe it was an A-10 from Spangdahlem which also train alot on the Pampa range in Hechtel. You saw a double tail? Maybe a F-15 from Lakenheath which could explain the sound?

If you could remember whether it had sweeping wings or not, that would clear it up!
;)

Hmm, we're talkin early 90's here, over the Semois river ( Bouillon, South-east of Namur). I do remember triangle like closed wings. Since they did some loops and sharp turns I ask myself if a F-14 could do that with closed wings ( no expert on that one). Guess the F-15 could be a more plausible explanation. Dar, if only we had digital camera's and powerfull telelenses back than...  ;)
