Sea Kings and Merlins. The Hawks sometimes, though havn't seen one for ages. Must be the clouds.

Last autumn I had the oppertunity to watch a pair of light aircraft perform a nice mock dogfight directly over head. They were a few thousand feet up but you could seem them clearly and hear them well too. Wish I knew what they were. Endless loops and rolls and turns and such told me they wern't Cessna's.

Here there is only the ocasional cessna and the air amulance.  Only a couple a week.

At our old house on the other hand.   We were out in the middle of nowhere.  We had anything from cessnas to military jets.  I remember more then one tiime we had the chance to watch F-16's doing manuvers over our house.  We had a massive clearing to see from.  They would dissapear then come screeming over the trees only a few hundred feet above.  Deffinatly a site to see.....and hear:o  Dont know where it was headed other then FWA or Grissom ARB but i remember a 747 come roaring over while we were outside one afternoon.  It was a good ways up but still looked massive. Then when i was probly 7 or 8 we saw a couple blimps pass over one summer.  I miss those days.  But if FWA ever expands like they planned then who knows what might be coming in around here  ;)

I can spot some medium and small commercial aircrafts from my window.
They are mostly 737, A319 and A320. There are many private planes like Legacy, Gulfstream, Learjet and Citation; some Dolphins and Bell 222 too.

At home we mostly get Flybe traffic, Dash 8s and HS146s. We also get the Embraer ERJs and 737s and A320s now and then, and the flying school light aircraft.

At work.....

....no, I won't go there, although we did have an F-15E pop in for a meeting the other day... ;D

Well, there is an airport about a mile away (KITH), so I see them landing or taking off(depending on wind direction). Right now its small privite aircraft like cessna and piper, lear jets, dasualt  falcon, citation jets , USAir express ERJ-145, CRJ-700, SAAB-340, Beechcraft B1900, and Dash-8's. Soon Northwest airlink SAB-340. occasional F-16 and 130's.

I get mostly GA flying overhead.
Sometimes there'll be the odd CV-580/5800 or Firecat.
But that's only during the summer, when Conair is fighting forest fires.

I get all the good stuff when the airshow comes rolling into town.

Pretty much everything leaving Ockham VOR hold inbound 9L/R to LHR. ;D straight over my garden!
Summer spotting...
Also various outbound traffic if wind correct, ie easterlies.

I see a lot of C-130s, because our local municipal airport (Rosecrans Mem. KSTJ) doubles as a national guard base. every once in a while I see an RC-135 doing touch and go landings (practice I guess), the occasional chinook, and one time I saw a T-38. As for civillian traffic, theres a Piper Warrior, and Tomahawk owned by the flight school. the Occasional Cessna, and once in a while, private jets, Lear or Beach jet.

There was an article in the paper about a guy who runs a charter flight service with Beachcraft Barons, but I have yet to see one. The paper said he has been there for 15 years, but not once have I seen a light twin fly out of that airport.

home: here i am, out of Chicago, 18mi NW of O'Hare. seen an O'hare Chart, i'm under the 14R flightpath. this runway is the biggest, so i've seen...

717
737
747 - LOTS of these, mostly UPS, British airvways, and united
757
767
777
any airbuses

i rarely ever see a ga aircraft head towards O'Hare, and they are not allowed to land on 14R.

i'get at all times of the day, night, rain, snow, everything. it's fun until you try to watch your favorite show and an airplane roadrs 1000 feet over your house.

school: well, a 5 min walk nothwest of my house, so no change. ;D

Oh yeah, I live under the flight path for Nothwest out and in to Detroit...I think. I've used the binoculars a lot, and I'm almost positive they are Nothwest. So I see a lot of contrails all day long.

And the local flight school owns 152's, 172's, 182's, and some other stuff.

There also is a charter service at the airport so I see Barons quite often.

I live very close to KEWR, so I see all kinds of heavies.  When they're using Runway 11, they come right over the building on final. One of these days I have to get some decent pictures... standing at the kitchen sink after dark, I can look out the window and see them strung out like Xmas lights approaching 04 L/R from the south... at peak hours, they're landing them less than a minute apart!

Um...down south there's an army base so we get lots of Hercules and military helicopters (not to mention the odd private heli). Then, because of the intl. airport, we get A340's. A330's, A320's, Boeing 737's, 767's, 777's, 727's, 757's, DC-10's (cargo), MD-11 (also cargo i think) and the odd private aircraft, mainly jet (so gulfstream and Beech etc.)  ;D
