Parents of both of the arrested boys said they thought the boys should be punished by the school and families, not the legal system.

I totaly agree. This is just like that kindergartener who got arested for sexual harassment because he looked up a girls dress (what little boy hasnt done that?) or those two kids who got arested for playing guns at school.

I agree with you, what kind of legal system would arrest some 10 year olds for drawing some stick figure pictures? ???

Man, I'm glad I went to elementary school when I did, (before everything got so stupid) I would have spent my life in prison (starting at about 7 years old) considering the games I used to play with the girls on the playground.
I remember being in 2nd grade and not knowing why it felt so good to lay on top of girls and kiss them, but I sure did like it!! Still do!!
Yep, while the other boys were trying to score goals playing football or basketball, I was trying to score me a lil' somthin' somthin'. Image
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

Luckily where i live, stupid things are not rewarded with law suits, well not most of the time, but yea when i was a littleing i got up things that provoke a law suit these days. The legal system is getting really out of hand these days  >:(

Its a crazy world anymore...This "new generation" of kids are not going to know what to do.  They will think they can always have their way.  Every little problem will be turned into a lawsuit.

Its a world where everything is taken to far.  In our county and maby others they have came up with this new "program" for high school disputes.  Insted of getting 3 days sespention we now have to go to 10 days of sitting at the jail and doing different things for them.  Begining of this year i got in an argument with a classmate over something stupid.  He punched me and i returned the favor by knockin his a$$ to the ground.  Even though he threw the first punch i was the one who got the 10 days.  Only thing is...Its 10 school days.  You get so far behind in your classes you cant catch back up.  10 days is to much out of school over a little fight.  and if they think it scares us it doesnt.  There are people who have done this more then once.  I found it to be kind of pointless and unessisary. :-/

they need to concentrate on other things.  The other week i went to Walmart and was acualy carded to by a game rated teen.  Yet yesturday i walked into a gas station and bought cigarettes without even being asked for ID.  Im only 17 :P

Kids cant even be kids anymore :-/  I think some people need a reality check :-/

Well, i think arresting them is too much, just let them talk to a doctor or something.  Maybe they have some issues or something, i dont remember myself drawing a pic where i murder someone, i dont think its normal.  But that is just my opinion.

Well remember that this is how the two killers at Columbine started out (not that I agree with arresting them).  And remember...school sucks but after Columbine, it really sucks!

Fear is becoming more and more prevalent in this country...

It also sucks more to be a teacher these days...

That is absolutely INSANE!!  I'm concerned about these kids, too, but a FELONY charge!?! Doesn't that PD have anything better to do? Sometimes it seems like all the hand-wringing church ladies are slowly taking over this country.  >:(

Who here can honestly say they haven't drawn violent little drawings?  This is ridiculous!  Then why don't we get arrested for acting like shooting people!  I just shot about 200 people over the course of a few weeks if that were to be true!  Ludicrous!  The fact that they were special ed students makes the situation ten times as laughable and sad!  I still haven't grown out of that stage!  Pinguin/Eskimo wars were not a far fetched idea to behold on the Junior English class blackboard last year.

This is ridiculous sensitivity.  Was blackboard too strong a word?  Perhaps I should use chalkboard; I wouldn't want to offend anybody.  How can you possibly relate a silly little drawing to two cold, murderers shooting fellow classmates?

Am I commiting thoughtcrime here?  Should I report to room 101? >:(

Forgot to mention.... Its a 10 school day deal but its during school hours.  go at 8 AM and leave at 3 PM.        Still rediculous.  They kind of treat you like a prisoner.  Same food.  Same little uniform.  You do some of the tasks normal prisoners do such as walk around the jail picking up trash and i ended up mowing the yard (in handcuffs >:( )  When your not doing anything you sit in a cell and you can read books that they supply or you bring.  Gets REALLY borind :-/  I re-read the first 4 books in the Left Behind series.  Great books even the second time around ;)  They are all over 300 to 400 pages long to :o  Idea as to how much sitting in a cell you do...and im not a very fast reader :-[
