generators?

Postby elwellnick24 » Thu Jan 27, 2005 8:47 pm

hi all, i need to buy a generator (petrol) to power some stuff, but im not really sure what to look for. ive found a cheap one rated at 800 watts, but does this rating mean it wont power an 1100 watt vacuum cleaner for instance? ive a feeling it wont but i just want to be certain as i dont want to buy the wrong thing. cheers all, nick

Check again - I doubt that a petrol generator comes in that low (800W) a rating....

For an idea, check this site.

For an 1100w running wattage, you'll probably need about a (minimum) 3300W generator to take in the additional (about 2200W) needed for starting up.
