I think you misunderstood me Craig. You mentioned both ways.
The new 777 can do it one way but if a company can build an aircraft that can do it both, they would hit it huge.

I think one way would be quite sufficient.

If it saves money the airlines will do it. The A380 would be ideal for the route if it could do it, as the seat config could be adjusted for more leg room, and with the added space passengers can get out and walk around alot easier.

This is all very well in theory, but then you will always have the problem that you're bound to have to climb over someone to get to the ailse and walk around. On my recent flight to Singapore we had a woman who just got on and fell asleep next to us meaning that if we wanted to get up and move around, we had to wake her up (whenever we needed the toilet, a leg stretch or whatever...). Ultimately the passengers will decide by the number of bookings an airline gets...

Again only mentioning what airlines themselves have stated. LOL i know all the many problems involved with long haul flights from a passengers perspective. If you want to avoid the problem of sleeping passengers, check in very early, some airlines offer for a small fee, an option to check in the night before your flight, do this and get an isle seat.:)
And now a very interesting "rumor" making the rounds from airbus, this is from my dads visit to one of their plants last week. Not one of the pilots of the A380 have been able to land it successfully in the simulator. There have been problems with the landing gear and other problems, which have resulted in crash landings.

The 1st simulator would have been up and running for probably a year or to before the aircraft was being built...

Exactly. The development of the modern flight simulator in the 1970s revolutionised the whole concept of designing a new aircraft. Unlike the "good old days" of "suck it & see" the design team & crews now have a very good idea of how the aircraft will perform long before its first flight.

theres no exact date for a flight yet, this should be sorted by the first flight at least for the test pilots. The 777 actually had problems that Boeing didnt find out about until the first flight, some pretty big problems, like the front gear doors causing severe buffeting at low speeds and in crosswinds it caused some nasty problems. It was obviously fixed after and there are no problems. But as you both know you can only plan for so much, there are still suprises. We shall see. ;) And like i said Its only a rumor inside of the company. So wait and see:)
