Most ones that have opt-out links do work too!

not really, i unsubscribed from a mailing list at xxxx company, only to find 1 week later, my junk mail, not doubled, not tripled, but quadrupled. I used to recieve 30 junk a day, it i had a record 137 in 1 day. I did a random check of these emails, they all led to the same company. i never trust unsubscribe lists unless it is something I signed up for.

i also got a presonal record of 1,034 spam emails in 4 days.

I was warned about this some years ago. A lot of this junk is sent out on a random basis & many of the addresses might not exist. That doesn't matter as it's all automatic.

lol thats not fun :P
The thing is, sure... you've unsubscribed from the orginal company, but by then they've probably already sold your email to about 10 others ::)

all I can say is...whenever I've opted-out, it works for me...

Here in the US...several Internet-Marketing companies comply with the law that requires the opt-out clause (it's the offshore ones that play games)...

Oh, if only everyone played by the rules. ::) Most of the spam I get comes from these "offshore" addresses. They probably move around regularly. Here's some I deleted today. I have no idea what they're about but they're obviously not genuine mail.

Say what you like about AOL. At least you can delete mail without opening it.

sometimes when spam is from a major ISP (like yahoo, aol, hotmail, etc.) you can email the ISP and get the user reported...

yeah its insignificant and only takes care of one person, but thats one less source of junk ;)

I've mentioned this before but it's worth repeating. I opened a Hotmail account purely to find out what it was all about. I used a completely new name for the address & sent it to one trusted friend, asking him to mail me back. When I went to check it out less than 2 hours later I had about 50 incoming e-mail. One from my friend & the rest junk. Some of them were verging on the obscene so goodness knows what kids with Hotmail accounts get to see. I found out the only way to delete them was to select each one individually. A complete waste of time. I gave up the idea of Hotmail after that.

There is a simple solution to spam in your mailbox.
EAT MORE SPAM!
