Damn. Bandeh Aceh really got clobbered... the density of the population is very evident in the first photo, and the second reveals that basically nothing was left standing. We've all got our problems, but the survivors of this disaster have more than their share right now... I feel for them.

I look at these pictures and the previously linked videos with a mix of scientific fascination and horror.  Every picture I see shows 10x more distruction than I'd ever expect.  I feel for the victims of this event.
