              ............ strange people .................

Romulus seemed to leave the forum (... died ...) and returned ( ....resurrection .... his afterlife, now).

I didn't understand that - it's difficult to understand your humor. I'm not the only one, I think.

O, and after life comes the same as before life: a very long nothing. And in between, we quarrel en do our things.

But i like the idea of my ever lasting molecules: may be, same day, than can make a real pilot out of it.

And we don't live in a hell, we just have some problems behaving.

Ever wonder how people can believe is something they cannot see, feel or touch? Something that there is no scientific proof exist and much of scientific principals interject the fact that it's impossible?

Well ask a child about Santa Claus or the tooth fairy, the monster under their bed, etc. They've never seen them, but they are real to them through "belief" and youthful innocents.

Such things are commonly called "intangibles". This concept can be applied to many aspects of life. Such as, Will tomorrow come? You can't see it, you can't touch it, but you have belief that it will come. Many people in Indonesia felt confident in their tomorrows and will never see another. Many other's through out the world will go to sleep tonight believing there will be a tomorrow and never awake to greet the new day.

People can believe in "tangibles" because they can feel them, touch them and see them. Such as the "Titanic" a marvel of technology, unsinkable and it sits at the bottom of the Atlantic because of an "intangible" that became a tangible, an unforeseen iceberg and the faulty science of metal making.

Romulus,

if your intention of leaving was not a joke - what is the sophisticated part of it .........

As I said:  strange discussion, strange people (although some of them are sophisticated, but, I agree, not me: I still don't understand).

But I can live with it.

The main problem with this thread is that it asks for peoples opinions. I've learnt that it's not a good idea to do that. Because everyone elses opinion is rubbish compared to your own. ;D

Not necessarily my friend. When people have an intellectual discussion it can be quite interesting. It gets out of hand at times when people beliefs make them loss their tempers and get defensive. Or they misunderstand the question and change the original question into a subject that was not intended by the questions originator.

Having worked in nursing homes, I have a different perspective on death.  I've seen people who were kept around...and for what?

I know it's not my decision, but I do remember one lady who had had a stroke and was not only a hemiplegic, but was also unable to swallow.  Though she could not talk, she did indicate she did not want to be kept alive, and her daughter did it anyways.  There were at least 3 others who were kept alive and never got visitors!!!
