Doesn't PC stand for Personal Computer ?.....
.....with that in mind, even a Mac is a PC......
Yeah, but PC is generally used to describe "Wintel" systems or Windows systems with Intel type processors (since the Athlon and related processors are built off the Intel instruction set, they fall into this catagory)
Mac's are entirely proprietary...there is no spyware or equivalent written for them mainly because they aren't as popular.
I have seen little to recommend X-Plane over FS2004, and since I'm not into shooting/killing games these days, I have little reason to switch (I certainly wouldn't mind having a Mac to do photo-editing and video-editing though). Money is also one of the reasons...
Funny thing...some people argue about which is better the way some people argue about religion (one person's opinion differs from the other person's insults fly etc.). The same thing happens with Windows Server vs Novell NetWare vs Linux (a powerful OS and Network OS, but one with a
steep learning curve) To me, a computer is just a tool. A machine to get things done.
P.S. Bill Gates won in the end. I've often wondered why...(His operating system)...?
Probably a backroom deal or two, not to mention starving out competitors. Whenever a new product came out, MS would say "We're coming out with something like that" That's what happened with Netscape. When they put out their competing product, it was
terrible. However, it bought them time to fine-tune the browser. They also tied it to the OS core components...ever wonder why the installation of IE is not optional?
Also, these "independent groups" would review MS's products and say how good they were (the best thing since sliced bread..etc.) However, when the funding of these groups was reviewed, it turned out that...you guessed it...MS was funding them.
There was a
reason the justice department went after them!
I think I heard that MS is in trouble in Europe as well.
Since I am a computer technician, I always use a pilot analogy to describe my attitude towards computers:
You are a professional pilot. You prefer the Cessna. You swear by Cessnas and they are the best plane to fly.
A colleauge of yours prefers the Piper. Both of you are known to get into arguements about it.
You both go to work for a charter company...that flies
Beechcrafts!
Better learn to love the Beechcraft...
