Harry Potter Book 6 release date to be announced?

Postby `Josh » Tue Dec 14, 2004 11:33 pm

I hope it's true!

From MuggleNet:
A small change on JKRowling.com's welcome letter has suggested that a Half-Blood Prince release date might soon be on the way.

It went from this:

...where I can give you hints and clues about what's going to happen to Harry next, and where I can announce I've finished book six... and no, that's not going to happen very soon.

To this:

...where I can give you hints and clues about what's going to happen to Harry next, and where I can announce I've finished book seven... and no, that's not going to happen very soon.

One could assume JK Rowling has made this change in order to keep the site updated when the HBP release date is announced; hopefully on Christmas Day.

We can't, of course, say with any authority that this change means an announcement. But we can all agree it would be the best holiday gift this season if it were the case. Are you listening, Jo?

Do you think this means that the Half-Blood Prince's release date will be announced soon?

I think that's the title of the book. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/uk/newsid_3687000/3687558.stm

Harry Potter is awesome.  That's coming from a 40 yo male; not some teenage kid.  I love reading the books and watching the movies.  BTW, isn't Emma Watson about the cutest little girl you've ever seen, next to mine, of course...  :)

I don't know Kevin, we've got some real cuties around here, Daves two little angels, my dribble-monster... a pretty tough field of competition ;)
I am quite looking forward to the next HP book though ;D

Whatever you might think of him, one thing Harry Potter has done is to make reading books popular again, with people of all ages. Well done JK Rowling I say. You've worked a miracle & done something no teacher could do. ;)

Very true

Even though they've been awful since the third book...

I don't know, I saw #1 and 2 as being the same book.  #3 was pretty good (the movie is by far the best so far).  I thought that #4 was very good, and I think #5 is needed to set up the final two.  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, just my humble opinion.

Books 4 and 5 were just too long. In terms of pages, by the time the first book ended, Harry hadn't even got to school in the in the fifth. And I just generally feel that the first three books were the most entertaining and the best reads. The last two books just went on far too long with no more really happening than in the first book.

fair enough.  To be honest, I can't even remember half of any of the books as it's been a while.  I may have to take some time and reread them.
