Just have a couple of questions for the Football gurus. I have heard rumors that the Colts might be moving to LA in the near future. I know California was looking for another team, because god knows 3 isnt enough ::) but why would the Colts want to move ( i hesitate to say again because i am sure i remember something about the Baltimore Colts?) Also With them recently resigning Harrison to a rather large contract and James being next, arnt they screwing themselves as far as the Salary cap is concerned. side note aswell, Broncos have fired Micha Knorr and replaced him with Jason Baker, which is a dumb move as hes worse than knorr. Plus the person to be most effected by this will be Jason Elam as Knorrs been his holder for a while now and he's handled kickoffs, this will prob mean Jason has to go back to kickoffs

I haven't heard anything about the Colts considering a move, but as we saw in 1984-they don't neccessarily announce their intentions to leave.   ;)

Anyway, I know that LA has wanted a team since they lost both the Raiders back to Oakland (where they belong) and the Rams to St. Louis.  It would seem to make sense that LA should have a team since it is one of the biggest cities in the country but I haven't heard anything on who it could be.

Oakland @ Atlanta: Atlanta
NY Giants @ Baltimore: Baltimore
Cleveland @ Buffalo: Buffalo
New Orleans @ Dallas: New Orleans
Indianapolis @ Houston: Indianapolis
Chicago @ Jacksonville: Jacksonville
Seattle @ Minnesota: Minnesota
Cincinnati @ New England: New England (don't be suprised if this game isn't a blowout though)
Miami @ Denver: Denver
NY Jets @ Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh
Detroit @ Green Bay: Green Bay (I hate to say it, but they are red hot)
San Francisco @ Arizona: Arizona
St. Louis @ Carolina: Carolina (they're gonna go to the playoffs)
Tampa Bay @ San Diego: San Diego (good game)
Philadelphia @ Washington: Philadelphia

Monday:
Kansas City @ Tennessee: Tennessee

Well if that was to happen and they get a completely new team, i say get rid of the 49'ers there is no way California needs 4 teams, plus it would screw up a balanced 16/16 system. However another team considering a move is the New Orleans Saints, they are saying if they dont get the new stadium they want they will look at moving elsewhere, Mississippi is currently in the running there (which i would love)

i wish

well we have upwards of 35 million people in CA, so i think 12 million people per team would be fair

LA won't get a team until we build a new arena, and i don't see us doing that until we get the olympics again. . .pro teams do not want to play at the coloseum

the nfl would prosper in LA, we have always had good football teams (USC, UCLA, XFL, Avengers, etc.) and a lot of people in LA are big football fans too
Sincerely,
Me

I don't know if I would agree with that.  In theory, you would think so but if you look at history they are 0 for 3.  They have had 3 NFL teams there (at least teams that are in the NFL now) and all of them have left.  Both the Chargers (then in the AFL) and the Rams were founded in LA and the Raiders moved there from Oakland 1982.  All of these teams eventually moved.  The Chargers moved in 1961 (after only 1 season in LA), and the Raiders & Rams both moved in 1995.

I think the Vikings problem was alot like the Saints, in that they wanted a new stadium, which i believe they have been given approval for now. Personally i believe while LA having a team would be ideal in terms of its size, one of the other citys really should be required to move there. lets face it, apart from an average season from the chargers, the californian teams are not that good, or exciting to watch. I do like your XFL mention there though lol, sadly we never got it here, but the idea was great, to bad some people couldnt get over the idea of having Vince McMahon being the creator. ::)

It's true that the California teams aren't that good, but they were not too long ago.  Power in the NFL shifts and right now those teams are down.  That is no reason to move.  If I remember right, two years ago Oakland was playing in the Super Bowl, and growing up the 49ers were one of the best teams for a long time.  Give them time and I'm sure they will be good again.

well this week has thrown up a couple of surprises.
Too bad Miami were allowed to stay in the game with the broncos, just nice to see them actually finish a game properly for once. Well done to Richies Panthers, and now with sand diego winning :'( your playoff place is a little more secure,

Who cares how long Miami was allowed to stay in the game-a win is a win and thats all that matters (especially since Denver needed a win).   ;)

As for the Panthers, they are going to win out and be 9-7.  They will be in the playoffs again this year.   ;D
