In all fairness, I really don't think people have a right to criticize the fast food industry for America's problems with obesity.  It's not because they're selling food that is high in fat (although this seems a bit excessive).  It's because people are too lazy to get off of their fat a$$ and go out and exercise.  I picked up lunch for my boss one day.  The guy had TWO double 1/4 pounders with cheese, super-sized the fries, then ordered a diet coke to go with it.  Is it McDonald's fault this guy is such a moron?  I don't think so.

For the record, since summer began, I have lost almost 40 lbs, and I eat fast food almost once a day.

I really do want one though.

I haven't eaten at a Hardees since they started those damn comercials.
The last thing that makes me hungry is hearing someone else chewing. and that is about all the commercial is someone chewing. Who the hell takes a bite out of a hamburger and while chomping away stares at it nodding thier head in approval?
Although thier newest campaign they are using sexual overtones to sell their product. Last night was one that showed a lady shove her whole hand in her mouth, now why would that make me think of getting a Moster Burger?
I can't fit my hand in my mouth, never tried until last night so apparently they are selling these to the oddities?
And up to $7 for one with fries? i can go get at least 5lbs of beef for that and make a burger that doesn't compare.

And I agree with Dread, about all these losers suing over getting fat from fast food. How the hell can you sue a place that you aren't forced to go to? No one forces you to eat fast food it is a choice, just like you make the choice to sit on your ass and swell up into a gross obese slob, looking to blame your lack of self control on someone else.

And a congrats Dread on the weight loss and common sense on knowing how to do it ;)

I can eat whatever I want (tons of chocolate, fast food) without gaining any weight (or just maybe one or two pounds), sooooo...I freaking want one!

LOL Fret. ;) I have to agree with you there. Commercials seem to get more gross & disgusting every day. The advertisers seem to think that they need to shock to catch people's attention. What happened to all the clever adverts I remember some years ago? Some even won awards & were better than the actual programs. Not that it bothers me as I rarely watch TV these days.

In all fairness, I really don't think people have a right to criticize the fast food industry for America's problems with obesity.

It's not just an American problem. I hadn't noticed it until our government recently started making a fuss about it (our government is continually making a fuss over something or other) but there are far more overweight people in this country now than I've ever seen before. This is quite worrying as they're usually accompanied by children as overweight as they are, endlessly stuffing food into their faces. You can bet your boots that when I look through photos I've taken at an air show there will be one of them standing or sitting somewhere in shot & completely spoiling the photos. They seem to have a talent for it. >:(

In fact the government is talking about banning all fast-food advertising before 9 pm if the industry doesn't do something about it. I can't really see the point as many children have their own TV set in their bedrooms & I suspect they watch TV long after the "watershed".

Fortunately I'm like Bjorn. I can eat as much or as little as I like without any noticeable effect.

Hey man I suggest you should stop that! :o Its proven that fast food DOES have a negative impact on your health and that america DOES have a massive obesity-problem. McDonals and Co. are responsible for lets say 75% of the problem, the rest is a result of ALWAYS taking the car when u want to go somewhere (or lets say general lazyness). Normally, it should be possible to live ONLY with fast food, but if u try that, you will probably die pretty soon. Its the same problem we have with the tobacco industry, except for the fact that everyone knows how dangerous smoking is.  Is it the fault of Phillip Morris when someone is smoking 2 packs a day? well, they were sued anyway, and McDo should be sued as well.

Not if you eat enough vegetables and fruit. If he spends, let's say his lunch break at McDumb or any other fast-food restaurant and eats some salad or apples or other fruit when he gets home, I don't see any problem with that.

McDonals and Co. are responsible for lets say 75% of the problem, the rest is a result of ALWAYS taking the car when u want to go somewhere (or lets say general lazyness).

McDonalds is responsible for nothing. It's always the people's fault...

Agreed. But who in the world would be that dumb?

Its the same problem we have with the tobacco industry, except for the fact that everyone knows how dangerous smoking is.  Is it the fault of Phillip Morris when someone is smoking 2 packs a day? well, they were sued anyway, and McDo should be sued as well.

Sueing a company leads nowhere. It's just another example for the dumbness of our modern society.
"Oooh,I've smoked way too much over the past 40 years though I knew the risks!! I've got cancer now, so what to do?? Well, yeah, let's just sue a tobacco company! This always works and I'm freakin' rich afterwards!"
Come on, they're just after the money... ::)

I agree with heretic on this, it is NOT the fast food companies that are causing the problem, it is the people.

as was discussed the last time this was brought up. Some people cant help their weight, those are the people who should avoid places like McD's but for some reason see fit to eat there most days. Then its these people who go and sue the company, even though they knew full well they shouldnt be eating there. Sadly people just dont exercise like they should, they get fat and sick and try to find someone but themself to blame. Like i said last time this burger was mentioned, i think i might take a trip just to try it out:) As a side note of how bad the problem is. During my trip to the US we stopped into a burger king as it was right next to where we were staying, this kid maybe 12 13 oldest comes in with his mom, this kid looks like he weighs a good 180lbs and he goes and orders two cheese burgers and fries for himself, and a  huge drink i mean i didnt even know they exsisted this big, and what does he do? goes to each drinks dispenser and puts in a bit of each drink, this kid will be lucky to make it to his 20th birthday if he carries on ::)

Wasn't there a McDonalds in England opened recently with extra small doors to stop they err... larger clientel entering  ;D
Like Heretic my wieght remains pretty much steady regardless of what I eat... though I reckon a burger like that is just greed, BK bacon doubles are a hell of a lot smaller than that, and my dads home made ones are better than any I've ever had so I think I'll pass  8)
