Bandwidth bills are not going to go to Lycos unless Lycos is hosting the websites...a highly unlikely scenario as it would make no sense whatsoever for a webhost to shut down the websites of their clients.  (Imagine McDonald's combating obesity by closing their restaurants...make sense?)

Spammers have websites with Hosting Company A.  Lycos is a portal site, like Yahoo.  They're completely unrelated.  They've never even met each other.  To say that Lycos would profit from this venture is ridiculous.
Great edit, Bob.

I thought I clarified that already,

"Webhosts" is who I'm refering too about the people making money off you  I wasn't really meaning Lycos in general just whoever are the ones who collect money for bandwidth.

I really don't care if it is Joe Blow Web Service, people who run this software are making someone else money and getting nothing in return. Well except maybe a visit by some Government agency to be charged with spamming ;)
