As some of the long standing members here know, I live in a pretty neat area on Vancouver Island. The spectacular vistas are just waiting to be shown by anyone with the presence of mind to constantly carry a camera with them. Uh, that would normally be me.......
Yesterday, with Wendy working and me having some time to myself, I decided to take a walk to the local airpark to see how the day was proceeding....very nicely says my two friends, both of whom I have been up in their A/C with them on various occasions. As the chat time was coming to an end and Hal had put the wheel pants back on his RV-6, Dave, the owner of a Volmer Jensen VJ-22 Sportsman mentions that it looks like time to increase the hours on his newly rebuilt engine.....seating the rings and running-in the chrome cylinders and generally just raising the confidence level of the "new" engine.....
" Wanna come along as flt-eng on this hop ? ..Boring, as its just gonna be high circuits over the airpark......? Interested ?"
Who am I, to pass up an opportunity to see the area from 2000' once again ?.....and a wonderful time was had by both of us,....what, with checking oil and cyl head temps then overall just watching the lower level A/C doing circuits (one was Daves son in a Piper Colt) and generally enjoying the smooth air........I think we only felt three bumps in the time we were up......Very enjoyable indeed.........and me without a camera to provide an image laden report to you all from here.........
Shame on me :'(........once again.........

For the newbies you can see what this bird looks like. I have an earlier post with a pic this bird at the end of a flight I was involved in this past spring.
