Beer drinking bear!!

Postby denishc » Wed Aug 18, 2004 10:16 pm

At Baker Lake Resort, in Washington State, Wildlife agents found a black bear passed out on the lawn after drinking 36 beers!!  Apparently the bear got into a campers' cooler and used his claws and teeth to puncture the cans.  And not just any cans.
"He drank the Rainier beer (a local favorite) and wouldn't drink the Busch beer," said Lisa Broxson, bookkeeper at the campground and cabin resort east of Mount Baker.
Wildlife enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said, "He didn't like the Busch, and consumed, as near as we can tell, about 36 cans of Rainier beer."
A Wildlife agent tried to chase the bear from the campground but the animal just climed a tree to sleep it off.
The next day Wildlife agents used a large, humane trap to capture the bear for relocation, baiting the trap with the usual:  doughnuts, honey and two open cans of Rainier beer!!

 Anyone need a drinking buddy??

After thinking the matter over... I've decided it was Ozzy doing a prank. The police wouldn't arrest him all dressed up as a bear....-  he does have a history of escaping the authorities for crimes. ::) :-X

LOL! I just saw this on the today show, even Ann Currey (I hope I spelled that right) had trouble not cracking up. They said they found it passed out under a tree.

You beat me to the story. I think we should name the bear Ozzy. Seems fitting.  ;D

There was another beer story on CNN today. There's this guy in the US who had admitted to his doctors that he was drinking 8 to 10 beers each and every day. When the state was given wind of this, they immediately pulled his drivers licence. He was given it back but must now use an ignition interlock (breathalizer on the ignition switch) to start his car.
That's a lot of beer. I don't even think Ozzy could drink that much.

Wanna bet? ;D
I've been known to put away silly amounts on a regular basis. I'm currently off the sauce for a few months, but next week sometime I'll be back with a bang as I enter the realms of fatherhood, and get myself locked in a wine cellar with a bunch of friends to celebrate (all night long) ;D

True...but whose going to tell him to stop.  That's one of the advantages of being a bear!
