Flight Turns Back After Cat Scratches Pilot

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - A cat running loose on a Belgian commercial flight attacked a pilot and forced the crew to turn back to the airport.

The gray cat, named "Gin," broke out of its cage about 20 minutes after take-off and scurried to the cockpit where it scratched the co-pilot, SN Brussels Airlines said Tuesday.

The flight with 62 crew and passengers had left Brussels for Vienna Monday when the cat, a prized animal that travels to cat shows around the world, started wandering around the passenger cabin.

"The passenger was asleep and at that point the cat managed to escape the cage," an airline spokesman said.

The cat managed to slip through the cockpit door as a flight attendant served lunch to the pilots.

The scared animal was "very aggressive and scratched the co-pilot," forcing the crew to return to the airport, the spokesman said.

The passengers were put on another flight to Vienna, without the cat and its owner, who had to take a separate flight there.

So, as pilots, real or fs, it's our duty to now hate cats ;D

I hate cats to the core. >:(

They are always lazy and, when they get up, the only thing they ever do is ask to be petted on its back. Not only that, they sometimes look at you with a mean, cold-hearted look that makes you wonder if the cat has something EVIL plotted against you. I have even seen white cats with red eyes. Those cats scare me the most.

This is why I choose a dog any day. They're always fun and they always feel like wrestling with you. They are also man's best friend. They even look cute when you have them as puppies. ;D

Cats, they just look like the spawns of the devil.

I have heard a lot of crazy stories about cats from a few of my close friends. What surprises me is that every story potrays the cat as evil beings and they story always indicates the unusual deaths of each evil cat. ::)

One of my friends said that he ran over a cat by accident TWICE before it quickly died. However, I asked him "since cats have 9 lives, how the H377 did that cat die on its second painful experience?" He said "I don't know, but that cat must have already lost those 7 other lives long before it happened."

I think this proves that the passenger cabin of an aircraft is no place for a pet of whatever make or value. Humans are quite dangerous enough without a scared animal wreaking havoc.

One of my friends said that he ran over a cat by accident TWICE before it quickly died.

I happen to be very fond of cats. Once might be an accident but twice takes a bit of believing? ::)

Dogs are like children - you've got to care about them 24/7. And they smell... :P

I noticed your post numbers had crashed recently.

As for dogs, Exploder, I think each dog or should I say, Owner, is different. Some are awful and some are nice. But I agree with the following thinking:
A bad dog has a bad owner, a good dog has a good owner. There would be no bad dogs if there were no bad humans!

Sorry that's my personal phrase for this subject!
