It is actuall a odd form of promotional advertising for Alaska Airlines.
If you notice while looking at the site there are many links to the Alaska Air site. You can also click the link at the very bottom for "notchturner" the site that hosts it, for some explaination.
Too be honest advertising like this surely can't drum up a lot of business.
However I do like the idea of bench seating on flights, would give you more room
