Gatwick

Postby Craig. » Sat Jul 10, 2004 4:45 am

Ok as you know i am gone for a week starting monday.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the viewing deck at gatwick has been re-opend. Me and my dad are staying at a local hotel near gatwick as we have an early 6:30am check in time. But are likely to get to gatwick at about 3pm monday. So i want to get in some spotting if the deck is open as spending that long in a hotel room would send me crazy ::)
I have checked BAA's website anet and a load of other places but cant find an answer so i thought someone here may know.

I really wouldn't know Craig. Gatwick has changed out of all recognition over the last few years. If the weather's nice & you have few hours to spare drive out to the village of Charlwood. This is right on one end if the Gatwick runway. There are a couple of nice pubs there & you could sit out in the beer garden watching airliners to your heart's content. ;)

Not sure if they will be close enough to take any decent photos.

Just checked and SkyView is STILL closed.
Guess there'll be no shots from that then :(

sadly not. Its a north terminal thing anyway isnt it? I am going from the south. I will try to get some shots of it though its certainly impressive. I love the sky train to the sattelite terminal that gives some great shots.
