Yet another crash. :( :(

               Two killed as aircraft crash

Two people were killed and two others injured when a helicopter and a microlight aircraft crashed in Hertfordshire.

The helicopter plunged into a field opposite a village church after the accident.

Wreckage from the plane dropped into woods just before 1300 BST on Tuesday.

A Hertfordshire Police spokesman said they were unsure whether the aircraft came in contact before crashing.

The crash happened above the village of Welham Green. The helicopter wreckage landed near St Thomas More Church in Station Road, and the microlight crashed into land off Dixons Hill Road.

A total of 13 ambulance and fire service crews - two ambulances, four fast response cars, six fire engines and a rescue vehicle - are attending the incident.

Chief Inspector Tim Bonnet of Hertfordshire Police said: "This scene is well away from the roads and we've closed off the immediate vicinity. But we hope people will understand that when there has been an accident of this type we must investigate."

A Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We are all working closely together and there is a vast number of emergency services at the scene, as well as several police surveying the area."

Police have cordoned off the area around Dixons Hill Road, Swanlands Road and Station Road.
