Australian pilots' licences are to be upgraded to make them more difficult for terrorists to fake, authorities said yesterday. The new cards will feature "embedded images that cannot be tampered with".

I'm all for anything that thwarts terrorists & criminals. However, measures like this have not stopped them before & are unlikely to solve anything. IMHO

It won't prevent IDs being stolen which I believe is increasing at a frightening rate. Using a pilot's identity would enable any criminal to apply for a genuine licence & other official documents.
