It better not come here. We have $22,000+ bucks worth of horses here at my house, we can't afford to have it come here. :-/ :(

It hasn't hit here yet, I think Oregon is the only state in the contenintal US that there hasn't been a confirmed case of it yet.  But, thats expected to change soon.

I haven't heard of any reports in Washington State. We have some kind of a pond-type thing that the water collects in when it rains. When we have heavy rains it usually fills up and sometimes floods...talk about west nile breeding grounds  ::) :P Fortunatley, mosquitoes don't seem to have taste for me  ;D

You can keep it over there. One more reason I like it here. I hate mossies at the best of times but we don't have any deadly ones - not just yet anyway. I just hope they're spraying all aircraft from the US although I somehow doubt it. They blame birds but I'm sure this is how these diseases are most commonly spread over long distances these days.

What is West Nile Disease?

West Nile virus was first discovered in the West Nile area of Uganda in 1937.

Since then it has been found in a number of other countries, including Israel, Africa, Asia and parts of Eastern Europe.

The most recent outbreaks have been in the States, where two thirds of the East Coast states have reported cases - there has even been a case of West Nile in California.

The UK has had no human cases of the disease, although researchers from Oxford University recently found West Nile antibodies in non-migratory birds in the UK, which suggest the presence of the virus.

Last year it got 2 people who used to live across the street from me. Luckily they survived, it was a little girl at 5 or 6 and her mom. And I live in northwest Indiana in St. John Township (Crown Point)
