I had a friend once that was contemplating skydiving. He was told about tandem jumps and the duel harness. About having a qualified jumper strapped to him and all that rot. He decided against it, seems he had a problem with having another man (as he put it), strapped to his a$$ 10,000' in the air. He said, "I figure he could pretty well have his way with me"....

My first jump was at 16. At the time I thought it was totally awesome and continued to jump in the service and on into the 80's for a total of 13 years of jumps. Only had one malfunction when my left control wire got hung up in the risers. With only one control wire, I started to cork screw and missed a 10 acre drop zone and of course got hung up in the 1st tree going into the jungle. Luckily, I ended up only about 6' of the ground. ::)
