New world record!

Postby ozzy72 » Thu Jun 17, 2004 4:18 am

Frank Moody, 101, of Holloways Beach, north-east Australia, has claimed the world's oldest skydiver record by making a 3,000 metre (10,000 ft) jump after a dare by his mates in the local football club.

Now that IS mad :D :D :D

As my old boss often remarked: "Anyone who contemplates jumping out of a perfectly serviceable aeroplane wants their head seeing to." I've always been inclined to agree with those words of wisdom. :P ;)

.. why do you think people round HERE are called 'white coats' , 'residents' , etc? We all need our heads seeing to! I made my 1st jump at 16 & had to hitch a ride home 90 miles though the night .... eventually made it! The drop was fantasic .. it's called living ..  ;)  ;D

Agreed Pete (although I didn't have your hike home) I did mine aged 18 years and 3 days, as HM Forces won't let you jump under 18 without parental consent, and my parents kicked me out at 17 when they discovered I'd signed-up ;D
Every single time I am getting ready for a jump its the same buzz, I can't wait to be up there in the door... ;D

It takes all sorts. I was on the spot when some newbie went straight in on his first jump. They had to dig him up to bury him. That left a lasting impression on me from an early age. I can get my kicks without that thanks very much. LOL :P ;)

It struck me that if this old geezer forgot to pull the ripcord it would save the burial expenses. ;D

..and if the same thing had happened to George Bush senior, a while ago, we wouldn't be having these problems with his troublesome son now... ;)...!

LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Paul.

P.S. Sorry Lads...been dying for an excuse to post that... ;D...!
