Some People Just Don't Learn

[center][b]Some people just don't get it. She risks the lives of others so she can yap on her cell phone, especially during takeoff and landing!
She should be placed on the tarmac so she can say whatever it is that is SO important while a 747 pulls up behind her and sucks her into the turbo fan!

People just can't put the stupid things down. In the supermarket, in restraunts and movie theaters. Supermakets are the best place to spy on cell phone users. The husband on one end while the wife takes inventory of the fridge on the other.  ;D I just use a pen and paper.

People seem addicted to these things nowadays. I'm constantly having to avoid pedestrians happily chatting away to anyone they can think of ringing up & completely oblivious to their surroundings. They go merrily on their way knocking down unsuspecting old dears. I've seen some of these idiots step right out in front of traffic causing drivers to brake hard or swerve to miss them. And they still insist that using a mobile while driving isn't dangerous. >:(

I've seen schoolchildren on one side of the road chatting to their friends on the other - on the bleedin' phone. :o I ask you, whatever next? I don't dare think what the call charges must be. More fool their parents that's all I can say. What's the matter with crossing the road to talk to them properly. ::)

I thought they resolved the problem with mobile phones used in aircraft cabins. If so, that seemed a bad move to me. I reckon they should be banned on all public transport.

PS. I can't really criticise as I know what obsession is all about. Maybe it's a good job I don't have one of these darned things. :o

It's silly isn't it. I've seen a person talking on two cell phones at once, one on each ear ::)

Sometimes, rarely, multiple communications ability is necessary.  I remember one time I had two phone lines, and was connected with my home computer on broadband, office laptop on tel line two, talking on tel line 1, and still having to reach on the cell phone, all the while coordinating parts availability from the warehouse, and chartering a jet to take the parts.

But, arguing what to wear to the party with one person while talking to the date on the other ...  well, that IS a but much.

I have a mobile phone.  Occasionally I switch it on.  I like it off as it stays quiet and no one can find me ;D

I dont find it any harder to talk on the cell phone than it is to talk to someone standing next to me.  I have no trouble walking down the sidewalk with someone and having a conversation with them, and likewise I dont have any trouble talking to someone on the phone while walking.

Same with driving.. If I have a passenger, it doesnt distract me to have a conversation with them, so the same applies to the telephone.  In NYC and a few other places it is illegal to talk on a phone while driving, so should it be illegal to talk to your passengers?

People in supermarkets or on airplanes don't bother me using their phones anymore than it would bother me if they were talking to a friend beside them.

Personally, I dislike talking on phones anyway, cellular or otherwise; I'd much rather talk to the person in the flesh.  However, they are handy sometimes if you need to ask a question or meet up with someone.

I agree with you about people yapping all the time on their mobiles.
This is a bit different. You have an aircraft with many lives aboard and you are specifically told by the people operating this aircraft not to use your cell phone at certain times because it can interfere with the plane's electronic systems! There is a reason for this!
Can't they just shut their trap for a little while,..and if they are told by the people who are there for your safety to do something then do it! You don't slap the flight attendant and throw water in their face because you can't tell your girlfriend on the other end what shoes you are wearing!

Good for Vietnam Airways. We had one in his Pepsi delivery van pull out in front of us earlier. Agi managed to hit the breaks and we missed him by a couple of centimeters, then he made a rude hand signal.
Needless to say I berated him and then said I was going to call the police ('cos its illegal to use them and drive over here) and he apologised.

He apologised because he has a brain.  If Mark berated me I'd apologise, I have met Mark.  Believe me when I tell you that Mark berating you would be intimidating. ;D
